Cisco Network Engineer

Help people live their best lives. ECLARO is looking for a Cisco Network Engineer to support a Cisco switch refresh project for our client in Hackensack, NJ. The client delivers continuous, dynamic, and first-rate IT services to the public sector, enabling greater access to technology.

About the role

A local NJ-based, on-site network engineer to support a hands-on Cisco switch refresh project (not just remote engineering). The project involves replacing older switches with newer models, including cable management for identified network closets (IDFs) such as organizing wire management and ensuring proper cable lengths.

Responsibilities

• Rack/stack, cabling, and staging of Cisco switches
• Build new configurations based on the existing environment (strong understanding of IOS/IOS-XE differences)
• Connect to cores and validate port-channels, trunking, etc., with troubleshooting ability
• Perform access layer cable moves, labeling, and endpoint validation
• Troubleshoot during migration (STP issues, speed/duplex mismatches, config errors, etc.)

Requirements

• Strong Cisco IOS experience (Catalyst switching)
• Proven experience with switch refresh/migration work
• Willingness to perform both hands-on physical work and technical troubleshooting

Pay

$50.00–$60.00/hour
