Chula Vista - Relationship Banker
About the role
A Financial Services Representative (Relationship Banker for external postings), you'll serve as a trusted financial partner for our members, helping them navigate everything from opening new accounts to securing loans and finding solutions that support their financial goals. You'll combine outstanding service, financial expertise, and relationship-building skills to create exceptional member experiences every day.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and engage members with professionalism and enthusiasm.
- Open new accounts and assist existing members with additional products and services.
- Process and fund consumer loan applications while supporting real estate loan applications.
- Identify members' financial needs and recommend solutions that help them succeed.
- Educate members on digital banking tools and services for greater convenience.
- Resolve account questions and provide personalized support to ensure member satisfaction.
- Drive Growth Through Trusted Recommendations
- Proactively identify opportunities to connect members with products and services that fit their needs.
- Generate referrals to business partners, including Investments and Auto Lending.
- Follow up with members to ensure a positive experience and ongoing support.
- Contribute to branch sales goals while maintaining a member-first approach.
- Support Branch Operations
- Prepare accurate documentation for accounts and loan products in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Aid in end-of-day balancing activities, cash controls, and branch security procedures.
- Maintain compliance with all Credit Union policies, procedures, and federal regulations.
- Participate in branch meetings, community events, and business development initiatives.
- Mentor and support team members by sharing service and sales best practices.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in a financial institution or similar retail service environment.
- At least 12 months of experience opening new accounts.
- Strong computer proficiency and experience using business software applications.
- Exceptional communication, organization, and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Consumer loan processing experience.
- Cash handling experience with a high degree of accuracy.
- Sales or relationship-building experience in a financial services environment.
- Experience with Symitar software.
- Notary Public Commission and/or Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) certification (or willingness to obtain).
