Chorus Director - PT

About the role

Responsible for the overall operation of the chorus.

Responsibilities

• Select music.
• Attend concerts.
• Schedule and lead rehearsals.
• Supervise and conduct rehearsals.
• Supervise accompanist and volunteers.
• Work closely with participants on music selection.
• Communicate performance details to chorus members.
• Provide a high quality of customer service in a professional manner to both internal and external customers.
• Follow Wheaton Park District policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Proactively support the District's Mission, Vision, and Values.
• Maintain good safety awareness and follow all safety guidelines and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in music or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• CPR/AED certified or obtain within ninety (90) days of employment.
• Mandated Reporter for the Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act.

Physical demands

• Frequently remain in a stationary position and repetitively use hands/arms/fingers as when using a computer.
• Occasionally move and position oneself to move items such as music supplies, etc. up to 10 lbs.

Environmental demands

• Handle all weather conditions while traveling between facilities.
• Frequently work indoors.

• Rehearsals take place Wednesdays 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (September through April with concerts in December and April).
