About the role
The Driftless Pride Choir is a newly-formed mixed-voice (SATB) ensemble dedicated to creating connections of acceptance, belonging, and community through music. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit community arts organization, we seek a visionary choral director to lead our inaugural season and beyond.
Responsibilities
- Develop and grow the choir's musical repertoire, incorporating a diverse range of music that resonates with our mission.
- Recruit and retain a talented and diverse group of singers.
- Conduct weekly rehearsals starting in October 2026 in La Crosse, WI.
- Collaborate with the choir's leadership team to enhance the choir's visibility and impact within the Driftless Region.
- Prepare the choir for performances and events, ensuring high-quality artistic standards.
Requirements
- Passionate commitment to the mission of Driftless Pride Choir.
- Experience as a choral conductor and music director.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of singers.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to engage with the community and promote inclusivity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Choral Conducting, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a choral conductor and music director.
- Proven track record of developing and leading successful choral ensembles.
- Experience working with a diverse population and promoting inclusivity.
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate a diverse group of singers.
- Knowledge of choral repertoire and performance techniques.

Pay
$6,000.00 - $10,000.00 annually
Schedule
Weekly rehearsals beginning in October 2026, with additional commitments for performances and events.
