Duties Summary

Provides assistance in determining and promoting the needs of children and youth by planning, developing and conducting research; serves as liaison and technical resource person for assigned areas of responsibility; and performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

  • Legal Authorization To Work Requirement: Must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
  • Basic Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • General Experience: One and one-half year of progressively responsible professional analytical work experience which demonstrated the ability to analyze programs, budgets, services, facilities, manpower requirements, operations or organizations to determine their effectiveness, achievement of program objectives, cost factors, and to participate in planning for future needs or for related management purposes. At least six (6) months of the applicant's experience must have demonstrated some familiarity with human service organizations (including those providing services to children and youth, age 0 to 24 years), and characteristics of children and youth and their development.
  • Relevant Substitutions: As described in the Minimum Qualification Requirements.
  • Driver's License: Applicants must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.

Note: Hiring rates will be based on availability of funds, the applicant's qualifications, and other relevant factors. Note: Employees appointed to temporary positions may also gain membership in the civil service upon satisfactory completion of an initial probation period of at least six months. Once you become a member of the civil service, you become eligible to apply for promotion and transfer opportunities to permanent as well as other temporary positions. You may also enjoy other rights and benefits afforded to an employee in a permanent position with the exception of return rights and placement rights associated with a reduction-in-force.
