About the role
The Children's Services Coordinator oversees all programmatic and financial aspects of assigned programs, monitors staff to ensure adequate service delivery, acts as a liaison between administration and the department, and serves as a member of the administrative team.
Responsibilities
- Oversee treatment services for children enrolled in the residential program
- Ensure delivery of individual service plans, recreation plans, and behavior plans
- Ensure program data and behavior data are collected daily
- Work with direct care staff to ensure FPS minimum standards compliance and data collection
- Implement behavior plans set by the facility behavior specialist
- Serve as liaison between ATC's FPS children and their assigned public school
- Serve as liaison for FPS Caseworkers and Assisted Living guardians or caseworkers
- Manage a caseload of 5 FPS children and 6 young adults/adults in Assisted Living (20 total)
- Communicate with ATC nurse and ATC residential coordinator
- Report to the Licensed Child Care Administrator (LCCA) or maintain current LCCA
- Write quarterly and annual service plans for individuals in caseload
- Initiate and hold IDT meetings to discuss client needs, service plans, and changes
- Conduct home walk-throughs and checks for minimum standard compliance; ensure homes are audit-ready
- Offer minimum standard training to residential staff
- Serve as ATC Professional Level Service Provider: collect and write reports for quarterly YFT reviews; establish appropriate LOC with YFT
- Serve as ATC Admissions Coordinator: receive applications, select appropriate individuals for placement, share selection with admissions committee
- Ensure all required documentation is collected prior to placement; complete admission assessments and discharge summaries
- Complete Consumer Change Notice for admissions/discharges for accounting office
- Provide daily supervision and on-site administrative responsibility for overall operation
- Ensure compliance with current heightened monitoring plans, if applicable
- Oversee staffing patterns to ensure supervision and provision of child-care services meeting children's needs
- Ensure planned but flexible program activities designed to meet developmental needs of children
- Maintain a system to ensure an employee is available to handle emergencies
- Assign tasks to caregivers that do not conflict or interfere with caregiver responsibilities
- Administer and manage the operation according to policies
- Ensure compliance with Chapter 42 of the Human Resources Code, Chapter 745, and other applicable laws
- Ensure children in care are not assigned, utilized, or allowed to act as caregivers
- Ensure persons known to present a danger to children are not allowed at the operation
- Conduct New Employee Orientation (NEO) Training as needed
- Report illnesses and injuries to the Director and Head of Nursing
- Ensure houses and equipment are safe and in good working order; submit requests to Facilities promptly
- Perform CPR, SAMA techniques, and the abdominal thrust maneuver as needed
- Report any allegations of abuse and/or neglect
Requirements
- Must maintain current CPR, First Aid, and SAMA certification
- Must maintain current Texas Driver's License and personal automobile liability insurance
- Must maintain auto insurability with Agency carrier
- Must maintain required annual training certifications provided by the company and/or agency licensing
- Must maintain current Licensed Child Care Administrator (LCCA) certification
Qualifications
- Master's or Doctoral degree and a Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Four years' experience in community programs or equivalent skills/experience as determined by the Director

- Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively within a team for integrated programming
- Ability to use good body mechanics in controlling erratic behavior and move quickly in emergency situations
- Ability to handle stressful situations; exhibit patience and flexibility; maintain a sense of humor
- Knowledge of special needs of individuals with developmental disabilities
- Ability to be caring, nurturing, compassionate, and patient in establishing relationships with individuals and their families
- Ability to communicate at all levels in English and be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking
- Ability to demonstrate good organizational, follow-through, problem-solving, leadership, and judgment skills

Physical requirements
- Lift and carry 40-80 lbs. while handling individuals (Occasionally)
- Dexterity to grasp small objects (Constantly)
- Stand, stoop, and walk in order to work with individuals and staff (Constantly)
- Moderate to strong strength and stamina required for learner care in emergencies (Frequently)
- Perform SAMA techniques with individuals whose total weight may exceed 200 pounds (Occasionally)

Schedule
Full-time, 40-hour work week – 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. Hours subject to change based on program needs. Available 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
