Children's Cooking Instructor Seattle Eastside (Sammamish)

About the role

Sticky Fingers Cooking® is looking for part-time Chef Instructors in Bellevue to lead hands-on cooking classes for children ages 3–18. Instructors bring the kitchen to kids using our cooking kit, which contains all necessary equipment and tools. We provide paid hands-on training and individualized support.

Responsibilities

• Lead hour-long healthy and engaging cooking enrichment classes for students on-site at schools and other locations.
• Teach children about new ingredients and healthy foods from around the world in an interactive, hands-on way.
• Instruct basic kitchen skills: washing, cutting, grating, stirring, measuring, nutrition, safety, and more.
• Share the history, geography, and language behind each recipe.
• Prepare for instruction by reviewing weekly class curricula and shopping independently for fresh ingredients.
• Engage groups of 8–14 children with diverse backgrounds and academic levels.
• Communicate professionally with children, parents, and school staff each week.

Qualifications

• Availability at least 2 days per week (Monday–Friday, between 2–5 pm).
• Commitment to teaching full sessions (ranging from 4–12 weeks).
• Washington Food Worker Card (can obtain before teaching).
• Upon hire, pass a fingerprint background check.
• Access to reliable transportation.
• Ability to communicate with the team in a timely manner.
• Punctual and reliable.
• No professional cooking experience required.
• Experience working with kids of varying ages is a plus.
