Children's Cooking Instructor Seattle Eastside (Sammamish)

SFC Seattle Eastside LLC dba Sticky Fingers Cooking® is looking for part-time Chef Instructors in Bellevue to help us Cultivate COOLinary Curiosity in Kids®! Bring your passion for food and kids to lead engaging, hands-on cooking classes using our kid-tested recipes.

About the role

As a part-time Chef Instructor, you’ll be the face of our company, interacting with children (ages 3–18), parents, and school staff. You’ll teach hour-long cooking enrichment classes at various locations, using our creative recipes to introduce kids to new ingredients, healthy foods, and global cuisines. Classes focus on hands-on learning, covering basic kitchen skills (washing, cutting, measuring, nutrition, safety) as well as the history, geography, and language behind each recipe. You’ll review weekly curricula, shop for fresh ingredients, and foster a dynamic, encouraging environment where kids prepare a new recipe each class.

Responsibilities

• Lead hour-long cooking classes for children ages 3–18 at schools and other locations.
• Teach basic kitchen skills, nutrition, and food safety in an engaging, hands-on way.
• Introduce kids to new ingredients and global cuisines through creative, kid-tested recipes.
• Review weekly class curricula and prepare for instruction, including independent grocery shopping for fresh ingredients.
• Manage and engage groups of 8–14 children with diverse backgrounds and academic levels.
• Foster a positive, encouraging environment where kids develop healthy food habits.

Requirements

• Availability at least 2 days a week (Monday–Friday, 2–5 PM).
• Commitment to teaching full sessions (4–12 weeks).
• Washington Food Worker Card (can be obtained before teaching).
• Access to reliable transportation.
• Punctual, reliable, and able to communicate with the team in a timely manner.
• Upon hire, must pass a fingerprint background check.

Qualifications

• No professional cooking experience required.
• Experience working with kids of varying ages is a plus.
• Ability to engage and manage groups of children in a dynamic setting.
