Children's Cooking Instructor Seattle Eastside (Bothell)

About the role

We are looking for part-time Chef Instructors in Bothell to help us Cultivate COOLinary Curiosity in Kids®. You will lead hour-long, healthy, and engaging cooking enrichment classes for students aged 3-18 at various locations in your area. Instructors bring the kitchen to the kids using our cooking kit, which contains all necessary equipment and tools. You will teach basic kitchen skills, nutrition, safety, and the cultural background of each recipe in a dynamic, hands-on environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead weekly cooking classes for children aged 3-18 at different locations.
• Engage and manage groups of 8-14 children with diverse backgrounds and academic levels.
• Teach basic kitchen skills, including washing, cutting, grating, stirring, measuring, nutrition, and safety.
• Introduce children to new ingredients and healthy foods from around the world.
• Review weekly class curricula and prepare for instruction, including shopping for fresh ingredients.
• Share the history, geography, and language behind each recipe.
• Encourage and direct children to prepare a new recipe each class.
• Communicate with our team, parents, and school staff in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Availability at least 2 days a week (Monday - Friday, between 2-5 pm).
• Commitment to teaching full sessions (ranging from 4-12 weeks).
• Washington Food Worker Card (can be obtained before teaching).
• Ability to pass a fingerprint background check upon hire.
• Access to reliable transportation.
• Punctual and reliable.
• No professional cooking experience required.
• Experience working with kids of varying ages is a plus.
