About the role

The Department of Psychology at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan (CHM) is seeking a pediatric neuropsychologist to join our team. The neuropsychologists at CHM support hospital populations with various neurological, neurosurgical, medical, psychiatric and sports-related injuries. CHM neuropsychologists conduct traditional outpatient neuropsychological evaluations for a range of medical specialties; as well as provide consultation in our inpatient rehabilitation setting; and are integrated as part of multi-disciplinary teams within the following specialty clinics: concussion, epilepsy surgery, myelomeningocele, NICU and cardiology neurodevelopmental follow-up programs. Additionally, we provide coverage on our inpatient epilepsy monitoring unit and actively participate in weekly and bi-weekly epilepsy and deep brain stimulation surgical conferences.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct screenings, consultations, and evidence-based neuropsychological evaluations of children and adolescents with medical, psychiatric, and neurodevelopmental disorders
  • Teaching and supervision of residents and interns in topics relevant to neuropsychological assessment
  • Engagement in research or other scholarly activities

Requirements

Competitive applicants must have a Psy.D./Ph.D. in clinical psychology from an APA or CPA accredited graduate program and have completed an APA accredited internship program. It is also expected that all neuropsychologist staff members have completed a formal two-year postdoctoral fellowship focused on specialty training in clinical neuropsychology. Given these perimeters, candidates are expected to be ABPP board-eligible or board certified.

Qualifications

  • Education: Required: Bachelor's degree in Psychology; Graduate degree.
  • Experience: Required: Internship and/or clinical experience in Rehabilitation Psychology/Behavioral Medicine/Health Psychology and Neuropsychology
  • Certifications: Required: Licensed psychologist. Additional certification(s) per governing board and in accordance with the facility Medical Staff Bylaws.
