About the role
The Teacher will plan and implement a program of activities ensuring each child’s personal safety while providing enrichment, physical challenges, and learning experiences. You will uphold the employee code of conduct and ensure all job responsibilities reflect the mission of the Old Colony Y and its regulating agencies.
Responsibilities
- Understand and ensure compliance with EEC regulations, NAEYC standards, and Old Colony Y policies (Child and Youth Care, Child Guidance, Health Care).
- Plan, develop, and implement curriculum in accordance with EEC regulations, NAEYC standards, and Old Colony YMCA’s policies.
- Tailor lesson plans to individual children’s interests, abilities, needs, talents, cultural diversity, and learning styles.
- Lead daily activities and maintain classroom arrangement, appearance, and overall learning environment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 21 years of age or a high school diploma or equivalent and meet EEC requirements for education and experience for Teacher.
- CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required.
- Evidence of a physical examination within the last 12 months.
- EEC Teacher Certification.
Schedule
Full-time, hourly position (40 hours weekly). Shifts range between 6:45 AM and 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
