Childcare Teacher and Assistant Teacher

About the role

Cambria County Child Development Corporation is hiring part‑time Child Care Teachers and Assistant Teachers for centers in Ebensburg, Cresson, and Johnstown. Candidates should have a positive attitude and serve as professional role models for children, families, and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a cohesive teaching team
• Assist with coordination of curriculum
• Help manage day‑to‑day classroom operations
• Structure and implement lesson plans for developmentally appropriate programming
• Plan and conduct developmentally appropriate transitional activities
• Maintain appropriate child‑staff ratios
• Apply knowledge of children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to create a safe, stimulating environment where children are actively engaged

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of 2 years experience working with children
• Ability to obtain required clearances (Act 151, Act 34, Act 114, NSOR Verification) – costs covered by CCCDC
