Childcare Assistant Teacher

Assistant Teachers work with infants and preschool age groups.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to pass all background checks
• Completion of EDU 119 or college-level early childhood education coursework
• Previous childcare experience working directly with infants, toddlers, or preschoolers (preferred)
• Physical ability to work around small children, including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroom in a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of the center
• Implement activities that encourage each child’s growth in emotional, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development
• Take direction, accept constructive criticism and feedback, and make improvements and changes as necessary for the betterment of the program
• Create and maintain an environment that is clean and safe for all children
• Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 6:00pm

Pay

$15-$18/hr based on education and experience
