Childcare Teacher and Assisant Teachers

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise children and ensure safety in compliance with Illinois DCFS regulations
• Support children’s social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development
• Plan and lead age-appropriate activities and lessons
• Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment
• Complete required 15 annual training hours
• Follow all center policies and procedures

Qualifications for Teacher Position (DCFS Requirements)

• Candidates must meet one of the following:
• 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) of college credit, including 6 semester hours in child development
• 1 year (1,560 hours) of childcare experience + 30 semester hours of college credit (including child development coursework)
• Completion of a DCFS-approved credential program

Qualifications for Assistant Teacher Position (DCFS Requirements)

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED) (Required)

$15.00 - $22.00 per hour (based on position offered, education, and experience)
