Childcare Taker

A wonderful, kind-hearted family based in Kaukauna, WI is seeking a part-time childcare provider for their 13-year-old son who has ADHD, Anxiety, and autism with respite care. This child is very bright, smart, energetic, and requires de-escalation tactics.

About the role

This is not an agency. You would be hired directly by the client under self-direction. The home is pet-friendly.

Schedule

• School Hours: 2:45 PM – 7:00 PM, Monday–Friday (flexible, no set schedule)
• Weekend Care: as needed
• Summer Hours: Monday–Friday (flexible, no set schedule) and weekend care as needed

Pay

• $17.97 per hour
• Mileage pay offered

Responsibilities

• Meal and snack preparation
• Assist with mentoring personal care tasks
• Provide 1:1 supervision
• Transportation (after-school pickup, possibly out-of-home activities)
• Offer emotional support
• Engage in de-escalation tactics as needed
• Light housekeeping related to the child

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle
• Able to pass a Wisconsin background check
• Experience working with adults or children with complex needs (mental health, developmental disabilities, autism, ADHD, ODD, etc.)
• Proven dependability
• Committed to providing care for children and adults with special needs
• Understanding of de-escalation techniques
