Responsibilities
- Work as part of the teaching team to develop and conduct developmentally appropriate activities for a group of children.
- This includes setting up and putting away equipment and materials both inside and outside of the facilities.
- Aid in the incorporation of good health and safety standards for the children.
- Aid children in learning self-help skills.
- Provide for the physical care of the children, including but not limited to changing, diapering, toileting, feeding, and comforting as needed.
- Aid in the preparation of snacks and meals as needed.
- Help maintain an orderly environment.
- Inform the supervisor when materials and nutrition supplies need to be ordered.
- Attend and participate in staff and parent meetings and events.
- Aid in the maintenance of records and reports.
- Aid the children if an emergency occurs.
- Acquire DHS-required development training hours.
- Safely operate a vehicle for job-related travel, such as transporting clients, attending off-site meetings, and visiting community partners or service locations.
Requirements
- A minimum of a High School Diploma, or equivalent.
- An AA Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, Child Development Associate (CDA) Certificate, or equivalent experience working in a License Childcare Center is preferred.
- The ability to maintain a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR) is required.

- ASAC offers competitive compensation starting at $18.90/hour.
