Position Overview

The Site Director oversees the Before and After School Program at Mercer Elementary School in Harrodsburg, KY for the 2026–2027 school year. The role involves leading engaging activities, creating a safe and fun environment, and managing the program.

Position Responsibilities

  • Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum
  • Create a safe, healthy, and fun environment
  • Act as a positive role model for children
  • Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies
  • Perform management functions such as accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing (if applicable)

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent documentation from a recognized educational institution
  • Associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education and Development, or a related field with appropriate experience
  • Experience: 12 hours of child development training, or three years of full-time paid experience in a school-based program, Head Start, or licensed childcare program
  • Credential: Director’s Credential in Early Childhood Development, or Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, or three years of paid experience in a similar role
  • Pass TB skin test or health professional statement
