Key Responsibilities
- Aid in ensuring smooth Center operations by covering breaks, absences, and position openings.
- Open and close classrooms, clean common and classroom areas, assist in the kitchen, wash diapers and linens, and assist with daily routines.
- Adapt to the unique needs of each classroom, demonstrating flexibility and seamless transitions between age groups and teaching styles.
- Implement the curriculum and maintain a fun, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for all children.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere that promotes the well-being and growth of every child.
- Maintain open and effective communication with teachers, staff, and leadership.
- Ensure the cleanliness, organization, and safety of the center by assisting with general upkeep and adhering to health and safety standards.
- Show up on time, meet expectations, and address challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset.
- Participate in required staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
Position Requirements
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with families and colleagues.
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
- Completion of an approved pediatric first aid and CPR training within 90 days of hire.
- A respect for diversity and recognition of its value in enhancing the program.
- The ability to complete annual required trainings to ensure high-quality early education.
- CDA, Food Handling Certification, or Early Childhood Education experience preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent walking, standing, climbing stairs, crawling, sitting, squatting, stooping, bending, reaching, kneeling, rising from the floor, and twisting.
- Ability to carry and lift 25 pounds or less, use repetitive or fine hand movements, and occasionally push, pull, run short distances, and carry and lift 25-50 pounds.
- Excellent long distance and near vision for monitoring children's activities both indoors and outdoors in various light conditions, and hearing capabilities for responding to children's needs and maintaining safety in a moderately noisy environment.
