Responsibilities
- Provides accurate information about the physiology, psychology, and sociology of pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, and early parenthood.
- Provides skills to assist women and their support persons to cope with pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, and early parenthood.
- Acts as a facilitator who helps couples better understand and value their experience as they transition into parenthood.
- Serves as an advocate for pregnant women, their partners and infants.
- Communicates accurate information about pregnancy, childbirth, childcare, and early parenthood in a clear, concise, understandable manner.
- Serves as a resource to the community by developing and planning programs in response to identified needs.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Associates Degree Required
- Work Experience: 1 year in OB specialty (labor and delivery, maternity, NICU).
- Required Experience: As an educator in a health related field/organization.
- Preferred Licenses: Licensed Registered Nurse Upon Hire, Heatsaver CPR/AED Upon Hire.
- Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities: Knowledge of adult and childhood educational principles, Strong communications skills.
