Childbirth Educator - Days

Responsibilities

• Provides accurate information about the physiology, psychology, and sociology of pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, and early parenthood.
• Provides skills to assist women and their support persons to cope with pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, and early parenthood.
• Acts as a facilitator who helps couples better understand and value their experience as they transition into parenthood.
• Serves as an advocate for pregnant women, their partners and infants.
• Communicates accurate information about pregnancy, childbirth, childcare, and early parenthood in a clear, concise, understandable manner.
• Serves as a resource to the community by developing and planning programs in response to identified needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Associates Degree Required
• Work Experience: 1 year in OB specialty (labor and delivery, maternity, NICU).
• Required Experience: As an educator in a health related field/organization.
• Preferred Licenses: Licensed Registered Nurse Upon Hire, Heatsaver CPR/AED Upon Hire.
• Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities: Knowledge of adult and childhood educational principles, Strong communications skills.
