Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Child Life programs to address the psychological, emotional, and developmental needs of pediatric patients and their families.
- Coordinate and supervise special events in inpatient pediatric areas, collaborating with marketing for media activities and donor events.
- Prepare children and families for medical procedures using therapeutic play, and evaluate their developmental and emotional status.
- Identify coping strategies, provide supportive interventions, and consult with healthcare staff on behavioral and developmental issues.
- Maintain records of services provided, manage departmental budget and resources, and offer consultations to support patient visitation and care.
Qualifications & Skills
- Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) in Pennsylvania or eligible for certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in Child Life or related field.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a healthcare setting working with children.
- Basic Life Support certification upon hire.

- Planning therapeutic activities, reducing patient anxiety, supporting families, collaborating with healthcare teams, and managing departmental resources.
