Responsibilities

• Provides Child Life services for all pediatric patients, sibling/family support, and interventions.
• Provides one-on-one support and helps patients cope with the stresses of hospitalization.
• Develops individual programs of activities.
• Makes clinical decisions in collaboration with the healthcare team based on theoretical knowledge and baseline clinical experience, measured by patient satisfaction scores, length of stay data, and the Child Life database.
• Assists in establishing policies/procedures, goals, and a statement of purpose.
• Assists in facilitating the utilization of community groups, entertainment, celebrity visitors, and public relations programs within the community.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree.
• Certification: Eligible to sit for Child Life Council Certification exam.

Schedule

PRN role with some weekend coverage to support staffing needs.
