About the role
This Child Life Specialist will serve the Burnet Campus Transitional Care Center (TCC) & Surgical Unit.
Responsibilities
- Professional Responsibility: Promote play, education, developmental progress, coping skills, and psychosocial support for patients and families in various medical settings.
- Departmental Responsibility: Work collaboratively with other professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate records and contribute to departmental data analysis.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues to enhance patient care and support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
- Completion of child life internship under the supervision of a certified CLS required.
- Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) within one year of hire.
Qualifications
- Must have a strong background in child development and psychology.
- Experience working with pediatric populations is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Benefits
- Approximately 27 days of paid time off accrued per year.
- Weekend rotation every 4th Sunday required.
- $5.00/hour weekend differential on qualified hours.

Pay
Starting at $48,335.04 annually (as a salaried/exempt employee) and can increase based on years of experience.
Schedule
Tuesday & Thursday 9:30a-6p / Wednesday & Friday 7:30a-6p
Additional Information
Every 4th Sunday required for weekend rotation.
Expected Starting Pay Range: Annualized pay may vary based on FTE status $53,705.60 - $67,142.40
