Child & Family Clinician / Therapist - Delaware County

About the role

Joseph J. Peters Institute (JJPI) seeks a Child and Family Clinician for the Delaware County Healing & Resolving Trauma (DelcoHART) program. This full-time, grant-funded position is located at Family Support Line (FSL) in Media, PA, and involves close collaboration with FSL and the Delaware County Child Advocacy Center (DCCAC). Continued employment is contingent on available funding; if funding concludes, JJPI will consider the employee for other program opportunities based on organizational needs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the highest quality clinical services to all participants in JJPI’s Delaware County programs.
• Conduct evaluations of referred participants and interview participants and involved parties.
• Administer psychometric measures at intake and during therapy, and interpret results.
• Provide consultation and individual therapy using Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Problem Sexual Behavior Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (PSB-CBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS).
• Complete school screening evaluations of children exhibiting problematic sexual behavior and provide recommendations to parents/caregivers and school staff.
• Work closely with staff from FSL and DCCAC, including informal clinical consultation and participation on treatment/staffing/consultation teams.
• Engage in case management activities that support participants’ healing and recovery.
• Attend clinical meetings and scheduled supervisions.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with community agencies and organizations.
• Make initial contact with participants within two business days of assignment.
• Maintain clinical records and complete paperwork in accordance with agency and grant requirements:
  • Complete an initial treatment plan within the first two visits.
  • Update treatment plans as needed, at minimum every 180 days.
  • Complete clinical progress notes within two days of each session.
  • Complete case management progress notes within five days of activity.
  • Follow up appropriately with participants who miss sessions and continue outreach.
  • Complete discharge summaries within 48 hours of termination.
  • Complete and submit utilization reports (clinical and case management hours) weekly.
• Ensure compliance with funder guidelines and requirements.
• Contribute to a team approach to treatment and collaborate across JJPI and PHMC programs.
• Promote the agency in interactions with other agencies and professionals.
• Complete grant-related documentation, including data collection, narrative service descriptions, and outcome measure summaries.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, especially the ability to connect empathetically with participants.
• Strong ability to meet timelines and communicate clearly in writing and orally.
• Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Capacity to work independently and collaboratively with professionals from other organizations.
• Willingness to travel to schools and other locations within Delaware County.
• Bilingual in Spanish/English and/or other languages is a plus.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited program in a clinical field (e.g., clinical psychology, mental health counseling).
• At least two years of clinical experience with populations served, including individuals who have experienced childhood sexual abuse and/or other traumas.
• Preferred: Independent practice license, license eligibility, or active pursuit of clinical licensure.
• Preferred: Experience with TF-CBT, PSB-CBT, and CBITS (training will be provided if not trained).
