About the role

RIDGEVIEW Behavioral Health Services is hiring a Full Time Bachelor’s Level Project BASIC Child Development Specialist to work in Morgan County schools.

Responsibilities

• Provide early intervention services targeting children in kindergarten through third grade.
• Offer social-emotional learning groups for children.
• Train teachers and families.
• Work during the school year only, off during Morgan County school breaks.
• Assess children at risk of mental health problems.
• Support students and parents individually and in groups.
• Consult with teachers and present classroom programming based on BASIC curriculum guidelines.
• Network and refer to community resources.
• Plan and implement wellness-related activities.
• Maintain positive relationships with school systems and other community service agencies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a mental health/social science discipline, Master’s degree from an accredited school of Social Work preferred.
• Experience with children (ages 5-8 years), familiarity with and/or experience in school settings, and individual and group leadership skills.
