Child Development Specialist
Job Responsibilities
- Carry out developmental assessments
- Offer child development services using the Parent Coaching Model (Rush & Sheldon)
- Adhere to each child's Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and collaborate with families to develop strategies for achieving developmental goals
- Employ the family-centered parent coaching method to enhance caregivers' skills and ensure progress generalizes
- Provide services in the child's natural environment, including homes, daycare centers, and community settings; virtual services are currently available
- Conduct reassessments and prepare progress reports (typically bi-annual)
- Preserve confidentiality of information related to children and families (in compliance with HIPAA and/or State/Federal regulations)
Requirements
- A Master’s degree in child development, early childhood, teaching, or a related field is preferred or required for Orange County positions
- Early Intervention experience is preferred
- Experience with home-based service delivery is preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills are necessary
