Child Care Worker

Essential Functions

• Helps to maintain the health, safety and welfare of all children being cared for
• Participates in keeping classroom and playground areas clean and sanitary
• Prepares materials for classroom activities
• Supervises children during outdoor playtime and nap time
• Supervises and participates in classroom activities
• Distributes snacks
• Aids children with personal hygiene such as bathroom use and hand washing
• Communicates positively to parents
• Interacts with the children in a positive manner

Physical Requirements

• Work is performed in an indoor environment
• Work requires frequent sitting, standing, bending, repetitive motion, and vision to monitor
• May require some lifting

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Must have fingerprint and background check on file with Human Resources Department
• Depending on the needs of the District, some incumbents in this class must be able to demonstrate fluency in both Spanish and English as a condition of employment
