About the Role

We are seeking a Child Care Cook / Food Specialist to oversee food preparation for our enrolled children. This role involves creating home-style, nutritional meal plans within the school's menu and budget, while adhering to state, federal, and USDA regulations. You will prepare meals and snacks for children and staff, maintain kitchen inventory, and assist in classrooms as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute meals and snacks according to the daily menu provided by the Director, ensuring compliance with USDA, licensing, and health department regulations.
• Create nutritional, home-style meal plans within the school’s menu and budget constraints.
• Maintain inventory of food and supplies, placing orders as needed.
• Assist in classrooms as an Assistant Teacher/Floater when required.
• Adapt to menu changes and meet meal and snack schedules.

Requirements

• Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals, preferably in a childcare facility.
• Willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations.
• Flexibility with work hours and schedule.

Pay

Compensation range of $20.15–$20.94 per hour, based on position, education, and experience.

Schedule

Monday–Friday work week.
