About the role
Work cooperatively with a second Cook to plan menus, prepare morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack for approximately 250 children, and order inventory. Make a real difference in the lives of children, families, and staff.
Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare nutritionally balanced meals for children and staff
- Keep an accurate inventory of supplies and place orders as needed
- Manage all aspects of prepping and preparing meals
- Clean and comply with sanitation requirements
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age with a high school degree or GED
- Relevant experience working in a licensed child care center, public school, or commercial kitchen
- Food service/food handler permit or license according to state/local regulations (or a plan to complete those requirements with support of the center)
- Must pass required state and company background checks
- Must meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements
Physical Requirements
This position requires compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, Bright Horizons’, and client site requirements concerning immunizations, employment physical/screening, and health and safety training. You will work in person in an early education/preschool child care center to provide supervision, care, curriculum delivery, and services per Bright Horizons’ policies and procedures.
Pay
The hourly pay rate for this position starts between $16.00 and $21.00 per hour.
Schedule
Monday through Friday from approximately 8:00am to 4:00pm.
