Job Summary
The Child Care Cook, Food Specialist is responsible for overall food preparation for the school’s enrolled children, adapting to menu changes and meeting meal and snack schedules.
Responsibilities
- Create home‑style, nutritional meal plans within the school’s menu, budget, and state/federal requirements.
- Prepare meals and snacks for children and staff and distribute food to classrooms.
- Follow the daily menu provided by the Director, adhering to USDA, licensing, and health department regulations.
- Maintain inventory of food and supplies and order additional items as needed.
- Assist in classrooms as needed, serving as an Assistant Teacher/Floater.
Requirements
- Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals in a childcare facility (preferred).
- Willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations.
- Flexibility regarding hours and work schedule.
Pay
$23.33 – $24.23 hourly, with bi‑weekly and daily pay options; compensation varies based on position, education, and experience.
