About the role

As the Child Care Cook, Food Specialist, you will be responsible for overall food preparation for the school’s enrolled children. This role requires adaptability to menu changes and meeting meal and snack schedules.

Responsibilities

• Create home-style, nutritional meal plans within the school's menu, budget, and state/federal requirements.
• Prepare meals and snacks for children and staff, and distribute food to classrooms.
• Follow the daily menu provided by the Director, incorporating USDA, licensing, and health department regulations.
• Maintain inventory of food and supplies, and order replacements as needed.
• Assist in classrooms as needed in the role of Assistant Teacher/Floater.

Requirements

• Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals, preferably in a childcare facility.
• Willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations.
• Flexibility regarding work hours and schedule.
