As the Child Care Cook, Food Specialist, you will be responsible for overall food preparation for the school’s enrolled children. This role adapts to menu changes and meets meal and snack schedules while ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements.

Responsibilities

• Create home-style, nutritional meal plans within the school's menu and budget, adhering to USDA, licensing, and health department regulations.
• Prepare meals and snacks for children and staff, and distribute food to classrooms.
• Follow the daily menu provided by the Director, incorporating all regulatory requirements.
• Maintain inventory of food and supplies, and place orders as needed.
• Assist in classrooms as needed in the role of Assistant Teacher/Floater.

Requirements

• Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals, preferably in a childcare facility.
• Willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations.
• Flexibility regarding work hours and schedule.
