About the role
The Child Care Cook, Food Specialist plays a crucial role in preparing meals and snacks for enrolled children in a childcare setting. This position requires flexibility, organization, and adherence to dietary guidelines and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Create home-style, nutritional meal plans within the constraints of the school's menu and budget, as well as state and federal requirements.
- Prepare meals and snacks for children and staff and distribute them to classrooms.
- Follow the daily menu provided by the Director, incorporating USDA, licensing, and/or health department regulations.
- Maintain inventory of food and supplies and order more as needed.
- Assist in classrooms as an Assistant Teacher/Floater as needed.
Requirements
- Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals in a childcare facility, preferred.
- A willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations.
- Flexibility regarding the hours and schedule of work.
Pay
- Compensation range of $20.15-$20.94 based on Position, Education and Experience.
- Bi-weekly and Daily Pay options.
