Child Care Center Cook

The Role

This position involves preparing meals and snacks for children and staff at a childcare center. The role requires adherence to USDA, licensing, and/or health department regulations.

Responsibilities

• Create home-style, nutritional meal plans within the constraints of the school's menu and budget.
• Prepare meals and snacks for children and staff.
• Distribute food to classrooms.
• Follow the daily menu provided by the Director, incorporating USDA, licensing, and/or health department regulations.
• Maintain inventory of food and supplies and order more when needed.
• Assist in classrooms as an Assistant Teacher/Floater.

Requirements

• Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals in a childcare facility, preferred.
• A willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations.
• Flexibility regarding hours and schedule of work.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow USDA, licensing, and/or health department regulations.
• Knowledge of home-style, nutritional meal planning.
• Experience maintaining inventory and ordering supplies.
• Ability to assist in classroom activities as an Assistant Teacher/Floater.
