The Role
This position involves preparing meals and snacks for children and staff at a childcare center, adhering to dietary guidelines and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Create home-style, nutritional meal plans within the constraints of the school's menu and budget, as well as state and federal requirements.
- Prepare meals and snacks for children and staff and distribute them to the classrooms.
- Follow the daily menu provided by the Director, incorporating USDA, licensing, and/or health department regulations.
- Maintain inventory of food and supplies and order more when needed.
- Assist in classrooms as an Assistant Teacher/Floater as needed.
Requirements
- Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals in a childcare facility, preferred.
- A willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations.
- Flexibility regarding the hours and schedule of work.
Qualifications
- Ability to follow and understand all current state and local regulations.
Skills
- Knowledge of nutrition and meal planning.
- Experience in a childcare setting.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow and implement regulations.
