Child and Family Outpatient Therapist-Community Based (69807)

Definition: Provide outpatient therapy to children, adults, and families to improve quality of life. Supervised by Program Supervisor. $2,500 retention bonus paid after six months of employment, provided the employee remains in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Provide integrated services that are welcoming, engaging, and accessible, addressing behavioral healthcare, physical healthcare, and social needs with a focus on recovery, strengths, cultural competence, client-centered care, trauma-informed practices, and co-occurring capabilities.
• Promote a warm and engaging organizational culture aligned with NorthCare values, trauma-informed care, and health and wellness.
• Carry a differentiated caseload involving highly complex cases requiring intensive clinical service and extensive professional diagnostic and treatment experience.
• Provide individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and care coordination using evidence-based practices.
• Consult with other program staff within and outside the agency to facilitate referrals.
• Perform intake interviews and initial assessments, gathering information about clients' symptoms, behavior, functioning, history, needs, goals, and preferences.
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support health behavior change in persons with behavioral health challenges.
• Interact and collaborate professionally with clients, their families, support systems, and community partners to assist in achieving treatment goals.
• Provide crisis management services, including face-to-face or telephone interviews, lethality assessments, and arranging appropriate interventions, such as hospitalization.
• Complete appropriate assessment tools and facilitate referrals to the appropriate level of care in consultation with management when potential harm exists.
• Immediately seek consultation with supervisors regarding crisis situations, including potential safety concerns.
• Obtain and maintain required credentialing, including licensure or supervised status and Alcohol and Other Drugs Treatment Practitioner (AODTP) status.
• Maintain competency in instruments required by agency payors or commonly used by mental health/substance use professionals.
• Participate in staff consultations for case presentation, diagnostic, and treatment planning.
• Attend mandatory program meetings.
• Support the monitoring and tracking of outcome measures for clients.
• Maintain clinical records in a timely manner as required by agency policy, funding sources, and accreditation authorities.
• Complete all required forms consistent with requirements.
• Maintain professional competency through readings, workshops, and trainings, and comply with certification requirements.
• Demonstrate knowledge of NorthCare's electronic record system, CCBHC requirements, ODMHSAS Services manual, contract requirements, benchmarks, National Outcome Measures (NOMS), and Medicaid rules and regulations.
• Respond to phone calls, text pages, and emails promptly and daily.
• Maintain consistent work attendance and notify supervisors of late arrivals or absences.
• Complete all NorthCare-required courses and training, and comply with agency policies and procedures, including documentation deadlines and productivity expectations.
• Perform any reasonable work requested that falls within qualifications but is not specifically described.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related human services field.
• Licensure in Oklahoma in one of the mental health disciplines or under Board-approved supervision for licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LADC-MH, LBP, or under supervision).
• If licensed, must complete continuing education requirements for licensure maintenance.
• Provide community-based services for 20+ hours of a 40-hour work week or over 50% of the designated work week. Community settings include client homes, local venues, telehealth, or NorthCare offices.
• Use critical thinking skills for appropriate staffing of situations with limited onsite supervision.
• Travel to and from appointments; must have "business purposes" added to auto insurance.
• Access to an internet hotspot; eligible for phone and hotspot stipend.
• Considered essential workers; may be required to work holidays, weekends, or during closures.
• High degree of flexibility and efficiency required.
• Proficiency in MS Word and intermediate general computer skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to move about facilities freely.
• Casual professional dress adhering to dress code requirements.
• Access to reliable transportation and valid Oklahoma driver’s license.
• Verification of current automobile liability insurance, including uninsured motorist coverage.
• Possess or obtain CPR, First Aid, and Therapeutic Options certifications within 30 days of employment.
• Complete Co-Occurring Training and Trauma-Informed Training within 60 days of employment.
• TB test within 12 months prior to employment or obtain within 30 days of employment.
• Adhere to all applicable laws, professional standards, and ethical codes.
