About the role

Golisano Childrens Hospital of Southwest Florida - Lee Health is seeking a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist.

Located near the beaches of Southwest Florida is Golisano Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida - a state-of-the-art pediatric facility that delivers vital and lifesaving care for children and their families throughout the region. This 135 bed regional hospital cares for children across five counties and is the only childrens hospital between Tampa and Miami. Golisano provides a variety of specialized services to take care of all of our community's children from emergency care to behavioral health, surgery to critical care, orthopedics, cancer treatment, cardiology, and more. Golisano also features a 36-bed medical/surgical unit, 16-bed PICU, and a 70-bed NICU with 24-hour neonatology coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Take part in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases and develop comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions to children and adolescents.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals such as nurses, social workers, and therapists to ensure holistic care for patients.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine appropriate treatment plans for each patient.
  • Participate in research initiatives related to child and adolescent psychiatry.
  • Engage in professional development activities to stay current with the latest research and treatment modalities.

Requirements

  • Completed Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship.
  • Board certified or board eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong clinical skills and a passion for working with children and adolescents.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
  • Florida Medical License.
  • Current DEA prescription writing privileges.

Skills

  • Strong clinical skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of child and adolescent psychology and behavior.
  • Experience with evidence-based treatments for mental health disorders in children and adolescents.
