About the role
At Coastal Horizons, we are seeking a Child and Adolescent Day Treatment Assistant Program Director to join our dynamic team. This position offers opportunities to make a significant impact in the community.
Responsibilities
- Provides supervision and management of all Day Treatment staff related to all aspects of program expectations.
- Participates in administrative work related to planning, directing, and managing all aspects of the Child and Adolescent Day Treatment program.
- Aids in managing and overseeing staff development.
- Plans, directs, and manages the staff as well as the daily activities of Day Treatment Services.
- Collaborates directly with Program Director in evaluating present program effectiveness to determine the need for program modification and development.
- Supervises staff conducting in-depth comprehensive clinical interviews to determine psycho-social, mental health, substance use and medical needs as well as documenting diagnoses and recommendations; developing a person centered plan based on this assessment and providing ongoing monitoring assessment and updates to the Person-Centered and Crisis Plan.
- Supports staff when in a crisis situation.
- Aids Program Director for direct supervision of Day Treatment regarding all aspects of job description and development of enhanced competency in order to reinforce Best Practice skills.
- Collaborates with Program Director for providing consultation and problem solving, ensuring quality control, and ensuring the Agency’s and program’s policies, procedures and all relevant laws are followed.
- Coordinates and oversees training and supervision of Day Treatment personnel and staff development.
- Directs and oversees meetings as needed for purpose of disseminating program information, provide training as related to program components and assessing compliance with program expectations related to billable hours, referral completion and timely completion of clinical assessments, person centered plan development and client NCTOPPS episode reports.
- Participates in a variety of personnel functions in hiring and promoting of staff as well as discipline and dismissal.
- Ensures team’s timely completion of required documentation and authorizations and compliance with Local Management Entity and Medicaid guidelines.
- Works with referrals, conducts community educational workshops, provides professional services to referrals from the private sector, judicial system and statewide institutions.
- Increase and maintain Day Treatment referrals and build community awareness of Day Treatment program by sustaining positive, active contracts with provider agencies, human services programs, educational organizations, Department of Social Services, the judicial system and statewide institutions.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited program with a Bachelor’s degree in a human services or related field and two years of progressive substance abuse and/or mental health counseling experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three years supervision experience in the substance abuse and/or mental health field as well as five total years of experience in the substance abuse and/or mental health field.
Qualifications
- Considerable knowledge of the practical application of different therapeutic approaches, group dynamics, crisis intervention, and family therapy.
- Considerable knowledge of community resources.
- Knowledge of the psycho-social, socioeconomic and behavioral problems and their treatment.
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies which govern the program.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes and psycho-pharmacology.
- Skill in establishing rapport with a client and/or family and applying techniques of assessing psycho-social, behavioral, and psychological aspects of the client.
- Ability to formulate treatment goals and to record concisely required documentation.
- Ability to make public presentations to various community and Agency groups.
- Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely and to plan and execute programmatic work effectively.
- Considerable knowledge of program development and expansion.
- Ability to effectively supervise and manage staff as well as to train and orient professional and support staff, including volunteers and interns.
- Must be able to perform sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly or frequently to move objects.
- Must possess the visual acuity to perform extensive reading.
- Must have valid driver’s license and be able to work in community settings.
