Technology You Will Oversee
- Our stack spans backend services, customer-facing web and mobile experiences, and the cloud infrastructure that ties it all together
- Backend Java (Spring Boot and related web frameworks) and Python (Flask, Django) for RESTful services
- Asynchronous service communication via RabbitMQ and AWS SQS/SNS
- MongoDB and other NoSQL technologies for data modeling and storage
- Frontend TypeScript and React, with CSS-in-JS and equivalent styling approaches
- State management and data fetching via Tanstack Query, Redux, and Zustand
- React Native for cross-platform mobile experiences, with Rust adopted where performance or architecture demands
- Cloud infrastructure on AWS (preferred), GCP, or Azure
- Ci/Cd pipelines, containerization, and modern monitoring and observability tooling
- AI-Assisted Development Claude, Opencode, and similar tools woven into the SDLC for code generation, automated review, documentation, and design efficiency
Qualifications
- 15+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant experience in backend, frontend, systems, and/or platform engineering
- Previous experience leading engineering teams, technical projects, or a technology organization
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and hands-on development experience
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, system architecture, databases, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and scalability
- Experience designing and operating production systems at scale
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS (preferred), GCP, or Azure
- Experience with modern infrastructure, CI/CD, containers, monitoring, and observability
- Strong product mindset and ability to connect technical decisions to business outcomes
- Proven ability to partner with executive leadership and cross-functional teams — including Product, Data, Growth, Finance and Strategy — to align technology with company priorities
- Proven ability to operate in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment
- Excellent leadership, communication, hiring, and mentoring skills
- Ability to work onsite in New York City
