Job Roles and Responsibilities
Define and execute the long-term technology vision across hardware, electrochemical systems, AI-based automation, and process optimization.
Lead technology roadmaps for advanced water treatment and electrochemical systems from laboratory validation through field deployment.
Drive innovation in advanced oxidation and reduction processes, AC-based electrochemistry, and physics-based process engineering.
Serve as the principal scientific authority for technical partnerships, patents, regulatory validation, and technical collaborations.
Oversee the complete product lifecycle from concept design and simulation through fabrication, prototyping, and field commissioning.
Partner with executive leadership to align technology milestones with business growth, regulatory validation, and manufacturing scale-up.
Guide development of modular and scalable reactor architectures and high-efficiency electrochemical systems.
Establish engineering standards for electrical safety, power management, materials science, fluid dynamics, and system performance.
Champion integration of IoT sensors, SCADA automation, and AI-driven optimization for adaptive process control.
Translate complex scientific principles into practical and scalable engineering solutions.
Maintain stewardship of intellectual property and support global patent strategy.
Direct technical collaborations with national laboratories, universities, regulatory bodies, and industrial partners.
Manage multidisciplinary research teams and promote effective cross-functional collaboration.
Oversee operation and maintenance of analytical and diagnostic laboratory instrumentation.
Evaluate emerging technologies such as nanomaterials, plasma catalysis, and AI modeling for potential integration.
Lead technical publications, white papers, and standards committee participation.
Build, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary engineering and R&D organization.
Establish a culture of scientific rigor, accountability, innovation, and collaboration.
Partner with executive leadership and the Board of Directors to translate R&D outcomes into commercial readiness and investor confidence.
Ensure regulatory compliance, safety, and environmental sustainability across engineering and testing programs.
Qualifications and Certifications
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field.
- Ph.D. strongly preferred.
- 12+ years of progressive experience in water technology, electrochemical engineering, advanced hardware systems, or related fields.
- Proven experience leading cross-functional engineering teams within DeepTech, industrial technology, or high-growth technology organizations.
- Hands-on experience with AOP and ARP systems, plasma chemistry, electroporation, and hybrid AC/DC electrochemical systems.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks for water reuse, potable water, and advanced treatment validation.
- Experience working with EPA, NSF, ISO, TCEQ, or similar regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience with prototype development, pilot deployment, and hardware system scale-up.
- Deep expertise in electrical engineering, including AC waveform design, field control, and power electronics.
- Strong mechanical engineering knowledge including fluid systems and modular architectures.
- Strong understanding of chemical kinetics and electrochemical processes.
- Proficiency with CAD, FEA, CFD modeling, and system simulation.
- Strong grounding in physics-based system design and quantum-informed process control.
- Knowledge of AI and machine learning integration for water treatment optimization is preferred.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Able to communicate complex scientific and technical concepts to investors, partners, executives, and other stakeholders.
