About the role

RAYUS Radiology is challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. As a Chief Radiologic Technologist, you will supervise radiologic technologists in multiple modalities and/or across multiple centers, ensuring professional standards and excellent customer service. This role operates scanners to produce diagnostic images of patients' bodies, maintains positive work relationships with radiologists, and stays motivated to increase knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures.

Pay

The pay range for this role is $45.00 - $65.00 per hour based on direct and relevant experience.

Schedule

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, with four ten-hour shifts from 11:30am to 10:00pm.

Responsibilities

• Screen each patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure the correct patient and procedure
• Explain and prepare patients for scanning imaging procedures, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately imaged
• Perform routine and advanced scanning imaging procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in diagnosing and treating patient illness and/or injury with minimal supervision or repeats
• Provide patient support by talking to the patient throughout the procedure
• Adjust scanning parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques as appropriate
• Maintain a positive attitude and working relationships with radiologists, referring customers, and other team members and peers
• Follow physicians’ orders precisely and conform to safety regulations to protect yourself, your patients, and coworkers
• Accurately maintain patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
• Maintain an orderly and clean work area promoting good safety habits for patients and co-workers
• Maintain ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements
• Maintain equipment in good working order; clean and disinfect equipment after each use
• Ensure compliance with all HIPAA guidelines

Team Management

• Demonstrate strong leadership skills and abilities, remaining approachable and objective
• Manage all hiring and retention processes, responsible for initial and ongoing training of new & existing team members
• Initiate and participate in team member performance evaluations, compensation, and development, and conduct performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, and/or terminations if necessary
• Facilitate and lead regular team meetings and one-on-one (1:1) meetings with each direct report team member, ensuring your direct report leaders do the same
• Mentor and support team members, encouraging a culture of collaboration, technical excellence, accountability, and continuous learning and improvement
• Manage team member schedules to provide for planned time off, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and adequate coverage
• Evaluate workflow and implement process improvements for the team
• Ensure team has knowledge of company and department policies and corresponding procedures are in place
• Support team members to ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction is consistently achieved
• Develop and implement methods for measuring and monitoring team and department performance

Other Duties

Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
• Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
• ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing
• Five (5) years’ imaging experience, with demonstrated ability to serve as a resource to others and identify and implement process improvement opportunities
• Experience leading and/or mentoring others
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
• Training and experience sufficient to competently perform advanced scanning procedures independently with the highest quality
• Certification in imaging specialty (if applicable)

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) year of supervising a team of direct reports
• Experience working in multiple modalities and/or multi-modality certifications
• Bilingual
