Chief Steward

About the role

As Chief Steward, you will oversee the housekeeping, laundry, and hospitality services on board, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, guest comfort, and crew welfare.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the steward department, including housekeeping, laundry, and cabin service staff.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities.
• Coordinate with the galley and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Oversee the preparation and presentation of public and private areas, including cabins, lounges, and dining spaces.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
• Handle guest requests and resolve any service-related issues promptly.
• Train and evaluate steward department personnel.
• Assist in budgeting and cost control for the department.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Chief Steward or in a similar supervisory role on board a vessel.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Knowledge of maritime hospitality standards and safety protocols.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.

Pay

• Shipstarline: USD 2,000 per month
• TechMarine: USD 3,200 per month
• INTERMARINE: USD 3,000 per month
• Marine Pro Service: USD 1,450 per month
• Dream Marine Agency (Chief Stewardess on Pleasant Boat/Yacht or Chief Steward): USD 4,500–5,000 per month
