About the Role
The Chief Revenue Officer for Athletics reports directly to the Director of Athletics at the University of San Francisco. This position leads all revenue-oriented initiatives for the athletic department, including but not limited to, revenue generation, marketing, ticketing, community and alumni engagement, and special events.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive revenue generation strategies to maximize financial performance of the athletic department.
- Oversee all aspects of ticket sales, including season tickets, single-game sales, group sales, and premium seating.
- Lead marketing and promotional efforts to enhance fan engagement, attendance, and brand awareness.
- Manage relationships with corporate partners, sponsors, and donors to secure and grow financial support.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to create and execute special events that drive revenue and community engagement.
- Work closely with the athletics communications team to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all platforms.
- Analyze market trends, fan data, and revenue performance to inform strategic decisions and optimize revenue streams.
- Supervise and mentor a team of professionals responsible for revenue generation, marketing, and ticket operations.
- Develop and manage budgets related to revenue-generating activities.
- Foster strong relationships with alumni, boosters, and community leaders to expand support for USF Athletics.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sports Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in revenue generation, sales, marketing, or business development, preferably in intercollegiate athletics or a related sports industry.
- Proven track record of successfully developing and executing revenue strategies that drive financial growth.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience building and mentoring high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience with ticketing systems, CRM platforms, and data analytics tools.
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations related to revenue generation and compliance.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
