Chief Resident Opportunity - Internal Medicine and Transitional Year Residency Programs

About the role

The Chief Resident role is a one-year position that offers outstanding opportunities for recent residency graduates to further develop their teaching and leadership skills while also gaining clinical experience as an attending physician. Many of our former Chief Residents have moved onward to pursue careers in academic medicine, competitive fellowships, and hospital medicine.

Responsibilities

• Leading resident and medical student education through Chief-led conferences.

• Presenting CME-accredited lectures to physicians.

• Managing simulation workshops and high-fidelity simulations.

• Representing the residency programs on key hospital and program committees.

• Leading Quality Improvement Project(s) with residents.

• Supervising residents in continuity clinics and inpatient medicine attendings.

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine Degree (MD or DO).

• Completion of an Internal Medicine Residency Training Program; Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine.

• Strong interest in medical education, teaching, and curricular development.

• Commitment to leadership and mentorship.

• Ability to attend the APDIM or ACGME Chief Resident Conference in the spring prior to the start of the Chief resident year.

• Valid US work authorization.

• ECFMG-sponsored J1 visa holders only eligible to apply.
