Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and direction for the Internal Medicine Residency Program.
- Maintain compliance with all ACGME Institutional and Program Requirements.
- Recruit, mentor, evaluate, and develop residents and teaching faculty.
- Oversee curriculum development, resident assessment, quality improvement initiatives, and scholarly activity.
- Participate in undergraduate medical education and partner with Internal Medicine Clerkship Directors to create a seamless educational experience across the continuum of medical education.
- Foster a culture of professionalism, wellness, diversity, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with institutional and departmental leadership to advance graduate medical education initiatives.
Qualifications
- MD or DO.
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
- General Internists and physicians with ABIM-recognized Internal Medicine subspecialty certification who maintain Internal Medicine board certification are encouraged to apply.
- Eligible for unrestricted Arizona medical licensure.
- Meets ACGME qualifications for appointment as an Internal Medicine Residency Program Director, including a minimum of five years of experience as a core faculty member in an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency program or Internal Medicine subspecialty fellowship program.
- Current or previous Program Director experience preferred.
- Demonstrated excellence in clinical care, medical education, curriculum development, resident mentorship, faculty development, and scholarly activity.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and collaborative leadership skills.
