Chief Operating Officer, Memorial Medical Center Modesto
The Chief Operating Officer at Memorial Medical Center leads, directs, and coordinates assigned operations. Responsibilities
- Hires, disciplines, and conducts performance reviews for subordinate personnel.
- Reviews and approves budget requests in accordance with financial systems.
- Initiates or approves major policy or program initiatives within the area of responsibility.
- Ensures smooth and effective operations and quality of patient care of assigned areas.
- Has authority to initiate changes as needed within the approved operating and capital budgets.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, public health, or a related field required.
- Masters’ in healthcare administration (MHA), Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), Master’s in Public Health (MPH), or a related advanced degree preferred.
- Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in healthcare operations management, with a significant portion in senior leadership roles.
- Proven track record in managing operational functions within a healthcare organization, including hospitals, clinics, or other healthcare facilities.
- Experience working in a non-profit healthcare environment is highly desirable.
- Understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the non-profit sector.
- Experience managing multiple sites or facilities within a healthcare network.
- Demonstrated success in standardizing operations and ensuring consistency across different locations.
Knowledge
- Thorough understanding of the California managed care and health care industries including the regulatory environments under which they operate.
- Understanding of the regulatory environment of a non-profit organization.
- Strong organization, supervisory, and analytical skills necessary to manage the day-to-day affairs of the division.
- An accomplished executive with superior management skills and a successful track record of leading organizational change in complex environments.

Pay Range: $297,500.00 to $402,500.00 / annual salary
The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
