Chief of Staff to SVP

About the role

The Chief of Staff to SVP will serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, helping drive operational excellence, financial accountability, and organizational alignment. This high-impact role sits at the intersection of strategy, analytics, finance, communications, and business operations.

Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted strategic partner, supporting executive priorities through operational management, financial oversight, communication, and cross-functional coordination.
• Manage capital and operating budgets across strategic initiatives, tracking investments, ROI, and value realization to support financial decision-making.
• Develop financial narratives and reporting materials for budget reviews and leadership discussions with business partners.
• Establish and maintain operational rhythms, including leadership meetings, planning cycles, workshops, and communication cadences.
• Manage recruiting pipeline activities and onboarding processes to ensure new team members are effectively integrated.
• Create executive-level presentations, leadership updates, townhall materials, and communications that clearly highlight organizational progress and impact.
• Support annual and mid-year planning processes by tracking goals, commitments, scorecards, and performance metrics.
• Lead talent management processes, including talent reviews, calibration activities, engagement survey analysis, and follow-up action plans.
• Partner with peer operational leaders to share best practices and improve collaboration across broader technology and analytics teams.
• Identify operational challenges, remove blockers, and escalate critical issues when executive support is required.
• Leverage AI-enabled tools to improve productivity, enhance storytelling, and support leadership operations.

Requirements

• Experienced business operator with strong financial acumen, executive communication skills, and a proven ability to create scalable processes in complex organizations.
• Comfortable working independently, managing ambiguity, and influencing stakeholders across multiple functions.
• 10+ years of professional experience with demonstrated success managing budgets, operational processes, and executive-level deliverables.
• Strong financial understanding, including experience tracking ROI, investment value, or business outcomes.
• Experience managing structured business processes such as recruiting operations, onboarding programs, leadership routines, or cross-functional initiatives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create compelling executive-ready materials.
• Strong executive presence and judgment, including the ability to determine priorities requiring senior leadership attention.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with limited direct resources.
• Strong process discipline combined with creative problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
• Familiarity with product-oriented operating models, including product ownership, delivery processes, and team structures.
• Comfort adapting to organizational change and emerging technologies, including AI-driven transformation.
• Experience using AI tools to enhance workflows and improve business outcomes is preferred.
• Healthcare or insurance industry experience is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or master’s degree in business, analytics, or a quantitative discipline preferred.
