Chief of Staff to CEO – PAFMG
About the role
The Chief of Staff (COS) to the PAFMG CEO is an operational partner that supports the coordination of diverse business activities. This position enables the CEO to work most effectively with internal and external stakeholders and fulfill commitments to physician shareholders, employed physicians/APCs, PAFMG operational leaders, and the Board of Directors.
The Chief of Staff will work directly for the PAFMG CEO and support the relationship with the PAFMG Board Chair, coordinating with other staff members who support both the CEO and the board. The role requires broad visibility into the organization to identify challenges and develop solutions. The COS will facilitate meeting and agenda planning while managing the CEO’s bandwidth and activities, building consensus, and handling competing requests with focus and flexibility.
In conjunction with the Executive Assistant (EA) to the CEO, this role designs and executes the Annual Operating Calendar for the organization and manages the Executive Team’s operating rhythm. The Chief of Staff will supervise the PAFMG Administrative Manager and oversee the work of all PAFMG Executive Assistants.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize and organize critical issues and information to facilitate effective decision-making.
- Coordinate group-wide business activities for leaders, physicians, and APCs.
- Manage the CEO’s operational rhythm, including meeting planning and agenda execution.
- Supervise the PAFMG Administrative Manager and oversee Executive Assistants.
- Build consensus and manage competing requests in a matrixed environment.
- Collaborate with the Chief Communications Officer on professional communications.
- Drive projects across functions and geographies while engaging colleagues at all levels.
- Motivate teams through non-authoritative influence, delegate effectively, and champion inclusion.
Requirements
- At least ten (10) years of broad organizational experience in the healthcare industry, preferably in an ambulatory setting with a physician medical group partnership.
- Experience operating in a collaborative, matrixed environment with a focus on delivering results.
- Supervisory experience with the ability to manage teams.
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Communications, Organizational Strategy, or a related field.
