Chief of Staff - Finance (26-27)

About the role

The Chief of Staff I will provide leadership and oversight for IDEA’s day-to-day functions and staff. This role will advise, manage, and coordinate various aspects of the organization, focusing on long-term strategy and growth.

Responsibilities

• Acts as strategic thought partner, confidante, and sounding board related to their respective Chief Officer’s area of work.
• Coordinates and interacts with senior leaders and executives, external affiliates, and other external partners on strategic, operational, and organizational matters.
• Directs, plans, and implements policies and objectives of the organization or business in accordance with the CEO or Chief direction, charter, and board of directors.
• Directs activities of the organization to plan procedures, establish responsibilities, and coordinate functions among departments and sites.
• Prepares and/or contributes with the preparation of reports, proposals, briefings, presentations, and responses on institutional and strategic issues.
• Provides principal management support resulting in the seamless functioning and management of priorities and/or special projects.
• Anticipates problems and are sensitive to issues that require diplomacy. Functions as extra eyes and ears by helping to navigate cross-functionally and across geographies.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree required, master’s degree preferred.
• Experience: A minimum of 8 years of experience or a combination of 8 years of experience in education, human capital management, organizational administration or development, information technology, finance & accounting.
• Additional Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience or a combination of 10 years of experience in the same fields.
• Certifications: PMP preferred, but not required.
• Skills: Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; unilateral leadership skills; proven experience translating data and metrics to action; robust written and verbal communication portfolio; demonstrable experience managing high-profile projects; and emotional intelligence.

• Compensation: Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $108,100 and $128,600, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity.

Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $108,100 and $128,600, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity.

Schedule

This is a full-time remote position based in Texas with preference given to candidates who live in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or who are willing to relocate. Travel expectations are up to 25% at the busiest times of the year.
