About the role

We are seeking a Chief of Staff to partner directly with our CEO, Raj Mehra, extending his capacity and effectiveness across the company’s highest priorities. Following our recent Series C, Sage is entering a new phase of growth that requires increased focus, alignment, and operational rigor. This role marks our first Chief of Staff hire at a pivotal moment for the company. You will play a crucial role in shaping how Sage scales over its next phase of growth.

Responsibilities

  • Build and refine systems and processes that improve decision-making speed, organizational clarity, and execution across the office of the CEO
  • Act as a trusted thought partner to the CEO, and often the cofounders and executive leadership team, on both strategic priorities and day-to-day operations
  • Facilitate effective internal communication, ensuring company priorities are clearly understood and progress is consistently visible
  • Lead cross-functional projects from concept through execution, particularly those that do not fit neatly within existing team structures
  • Implement AI-enabled tools and workflows to increase productivity, streamline operations, and unlock leverage across teams; be an AI champion, we are an AI-powered company after all
  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and risks early, then proactively drive solutions with hustle and humility
  • Become known at Sage HQ - get to know people, the teams, how things get done at Sage, all to help provide context and insight to Raj and the executive leadership team

Qualifications

  • 7-10+ years of experience in strategy, operations, consulting, or high-growth startup environments
  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept through execution, delivering measurable outcomes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate ambiguity into structured plans and drive decisions
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience supporting and influencing senior executives
  • Demonstrated track record of operating with high ownership, sound judgment, attention to detail, and leveraging AI tools to improve workflows and decision-making
