Chief of Staff
Nirvana is transforming the $1 trillion commercial insurance industry—still reliant on paperwork and fax machines—by using data and AI to rebuild insurance from the ground up. With cutting-edge predictive models powered by 50B+ miles of proprietary IoT data and AI-driven underwriting and claims, we deliver speed (>2x faster) and precision. We’ve achieved a $300M+ run-rate, industry-leading loss ratios, and backing from marquee VCs like Lightspeed, General Catalyst, and Valor. Now expanding beyond an AI-native insurer into a broader platform, we’re redefining the entire insurance value chain. This is a rare chance to shape a new paradigm at the intersection of AI and insurance.
About the role
As Chief of Staff, you’ll sit at the center of the business, working directly with Rushil on the most strategic initiatives across the company. You’ll scale operations, solve critical problems, and define new growth avenues—especially where ownership is ambiguous. This is not a coordination role; we need someone who thrives in demanding, high-stakes environments, upholds extremely high standards, and can seamlessly bridge board-level strategy with execution detail. For the right person, this is an accelerant to owning your own P&L—ideally within Nirvana as we expand or beyond. Success here isn’t about staying in the role forever; it’s about building something with Rushil’s full backing.
Responsibilities
- Drive clarity around critical decisions, separate signal from noise, and follow through until they become outcomes
- Own high-priority projects and cross-functional initiatives that lack a natural home
- Scale operating rhythms with a high bar for impact—business reviews, off-sites, planning, and more
- Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks across the company
- Run board and investor prep, and shape how we tell our story externally
Requirements
- 5+ years in high-ownership roles (e.g., consulting, finance, product, business operations, military, founder/CEO office) with experience in fast-moving environments
- Previous founding experience strongly preferred, even if unsuccessful
- Strategic and analytical thinker with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Bias-to-action and self-driven: you move fast and build things yourself with an AI-native mindset
- Thrive in high-growth environments with limited direction
- High judgment and maturity when handling sensitive, high-stakes information
- High agency, low ego: willing to do whatever the company needs
- Executive presence and influence: able to push back on experienced leaders when necessary
Benefits
- Competitive salary & equity
- Medical, dental & vision insurance (100% employer paid)
- 401k with up to 4% company match
- Unlimited PTO
- Wellness reimbursement
